That's what this spot reminds me of, so I'll skip this one, the Pygmy one, and the Pirate one.įound in Terraria's new and improved Underworld (Underground Desert), this summon is quite unique, much like the Stardust Dragon, instead of having multiple minions, you get one strong one, for this reason it is best paired with the Firecracker or Morning Star.Ī buff to the Finch Staff before it was even a thing, Ravens summoned by this are much more accurate and honestly look a bit cooler. This is arguably one of the best pre-Golem staffs you can get, pairing with something like the Firecracker will substantially increase it's DPS, giving you a guaranteed explosion with almost each hit.Ī staff based on the Twins, one shoots lasers while the other mimics Spazimitism's flame spewing. This staff is extremely good, it's extremely precise and can handle crowd control pretty well. Straight out of the 1.4 update, this staff is dropped by the Dreadnautilus, which you can fish up during a Blood Moon in Hardmode. This spot in Hardmode is where the summons get a lot less interesting, this staff summons spiders that inflict the venom debuff, that's it, that's all. This weapon ignores about 25 defense of their victim, pairing it with the shark tooth necklace increases that number, and so does ichor. This staff summons a small blade that circles around your head like a halo, if you summon enough, it looks like a crown. Pairing this with something like the Snapthorn, which increases your swing speed after each successful whip, will let you spam it quicker, and giving the modifier of Mythical will let you spam it with less mana cost. One easy trick is to spam the summon button, usually the rate of fire is super slow and annoying, but if you spam it, it begins shooting consistently.
The imp staff is notorious for leaving you behind while you get mauled by mother slimes (personal experience). It inflicts poison and is best used with another summon, like the vampire frog, so you can cover both ground and air.
The first craftable staff, it is an aerial summon that shoots stingers much like it's enemy counterpart. If you pair this with a shark tooth necklace it can take you pretty far, the armour penetration really helps out our little amphibian friend. I suggest pairing this with a Slime or Hornet Staff, because it excels at crowd control and ground battles. I really like this weapon, the idea is cool, the summon is cool, and the staff is cool, my only gripe is that it doesn't do contact damage, it attacks with it's tongue. I don't usually use it for long in my playthroughs because it's kind of like a wooden sword, good for a bit then it's useless. This is a pretty decent weapon, stacking it with multiple slimes is pretty funny and not at all viable. a starter weapon, it's pretty bad and the bird just ends up triggering slimes more than it actually helps, it doesn't exactly pair well with a whip either because the bird is so inaccurate you might as well be using the staff itself as a weapon.
